Becoming a foundry will bring in more money to hire away top engineers who left.

Come on, Intel doesn’t have any money problem.

Intel entered NAND memory manufacturing, couldn’t make it work, and made plans to exit the NAND memory business last year. Intel couldn’t keep up with Samsung et all making NAND memory.

Why would you expect them to be successful competing in foundry with TSMC and Samsung? This is a pretty challenging technological space where they are behind. How do they magically do well?
