Thanks Kevin for your Chaostan post.. The key to not having that happen on a global basis is continuing internationalism of trade which like a clot buster keeps larger systems from breaking down, real opportunity and reward for effort, learning and freedom. Freedom is the toughest concept to wrestle with, but it makes the potential of former concepts real or imaginary. Your author's Road Warrior mentality has already taken hold in this country, in what I call the post Iraqi/Kuwait 4 wheel drive semi-military vehicle syndrome. 99% of all these "utility" vehicles will never see anything more punishing or challenging than a gravel driveway... Hey, who wants an energy efficient electric car when you can have a 300hp gas guzzling, all terrain, side mounted gattling gun optioned semi automatic personel transport_ to pick up the kids and a bag of groceries!
