your currency play doesn't work..
the Turkish lira is dependent on the flight of monies out of Turkey to safe havens (the same as other 2nd tier countries elsewhere). people with money
do not maintain Turkish Lira acct holdings.

2 yrs ago.. in Thailand
a US$20 bill in Bangkok, the buy/sell spread for me was .5%
on my $100rmb bills, the buy/sell spread was 15% (thank you America!)
the yuan has strengthened quite nicely since then (but I'm thinking the spreads maybe much the same) & if XiJinping's sphincter muscles did not tighten,
there would have been a continuance of a weakened yuan.. foreign investments elsewhere).
