I have been pointing that out for 20 years along with asking the question, where can USA citizens hide in the future. When every previous superpower died and passed the torch, money fled to the new king. The last time was the UK investing in the US. The problem now is "IF" the US is in the downslide, where do you hide? If China is the new king, their market is far from open and transparent. Crypto is unproven and sketchy. Many say real estate but dying government is going to tax the heck out of it, I'll guarantee that. Property taxes will go through the roof and they'll probably come up with some new federal ones on land too. I've yet to hear a good answer I can't find a flaw in.
