>>chipset from Intel....capability to turn on the PC with a remote phone call<< Z, I was not aware of this new level of integration; however, I believe the function is fairly commonplace in current motherboards with telephony features. By tinkering with the hardware APM (Advanced Power Management), your computer can suspend or sleep until the phone rings, answer call, take instructions, and afterwards go back to sleep. You should confirm the specific features you expect with the vendor beforehand, but I would bet there is no need to wait.

If you have no pressing need, I would wait to get a PII until the BX chipset comes out.

Wake on ring is a feature that is supported on current hardware only on Win95 with APM. Full support is available in NT 5.0 and Win98 with ACPI-compatible hardware (LX and BX).
