Stockman, Hop & all - while not a net technie, I think CSCO saying Catalyst can compare to the newer generation of Layer 2/3 on Silicon is really spin control simply b/c CSCO is late to the party (think about it, maybe unwilling, since it will expose itself by admitting the necessary shift from the traditional router which it dominates.) I think Accellar (and XYLN Omniswitch, MADGF 3LS and Ipsilon's, for that matter,) would outflank CSCO. Unfortunately, we have a bunch of yes-men (yes-women <g>) at the corporate levels who are to afraid to stick their neck out to recommend any product other than CSCO to their bosses.

I think Granite was doing giga-ethernet (GE) - more like Rapid City before bought out by BAY and Foundry.

Chambers borrows Bay motto - - - -

Just saw the spot about Chambers on CNBC. All of a sudden he states "Cisco wants to change the way people 'Work, Live, and Learn;

All he needs to say now is "By removing the constraints of distance and time" and he has a carbon copy of Dave House's goal. (Come on John, You're a big boy - think up one on your own.)

It is very nice that he has borrowed Bay's company motto. They are starting to recognize Bay as a real threat to their empire(IMHO).

Mark my word - Accelar will make a mark within 2 quarters.
