No. There is evidence, but not proof, of increased R0 (infectability). Even if that is true, the lag to an uptick in deaths would not be changed. It is too early to know lethality. And it is far too early to know the rate and severity of Long Covid. If omicron has the same lethality as delta, but a spike in cases overwhelms the hospitals, there will be many avoidable deaths. Rapid “Natural Immunity “ will result in mass death and/or disability.
