What I dislike about her is that she (allegedly) told Bleiler (and probably other people who don't want to get involved) that she was going to Washington to "earn her Presidential kneepads", and (by alleged accounts) once there, set out to do so. I've never much cared for trophy-hunters of either sex.

Yes, she chose the people she told the story to. And chose very badly indeed.

My God, all she had to do when the thing, um, blew, was to say that she'd made up what she said to Tripp and others. Had she done that, the whole thing would have been forgotten about by now.

Yes, she's pathetic, but she's also wreaked enormous havoc. And the press characterizes her as "intelligent". Sorry, but opposable thumbs and a college degree don't make you bright.

X, You've got that right. But really, any man or woman at 21 aught to know, after having gone through the teens, that telling a story of that magnitude would eventually become public knowledge.
Who, after all, keeps secrets about even the smallest things - generally speaking?
