Based on upfront payments, the top three bidders are: 1 WNP Communications -- $100 million 2. NextBand -- $50 million 3. BCK/RIVGAM -- $33 million WinStar is much lower on the list, with upfront payments of only $13 million. Teligent has ponied up only $5 million, U S WEST also $5 million. Southwestern Bell put up only $3.8 million. Shockingly, the following four companies failed to qualify for the auction: (1) Comcast; (2) Cincinnati Bell; (3) RCN; (4) MSM; and (5) Webcel.
