I saw my first Rivian "truck" on the road today in Morgan Hill.....

My first impression was it was between unattractive and ugly... when I passed it and checked in the rear view mirror, I thought it resembled one of those modern VW Beatles with the buggy head lamps and lack of "aggressive" features of the Dodge Ram and Ford trucks much more popular in this farm and Silicon Valley bedroom community. The driver was a woman so maybe that is the target customer or perhaps "Sheldon" on "Big Bang Theory" (and not knowing if I mean "dorky" or "gay" with the Sheldon mention...) It was certainly a contrast to the loud Charger and Ram Truck I saw on the way down that oozed "toxic masculinity" with their complete blackout packages and loud engines.

They haven't made that many yet... One count said about 600..

How many Rivian's have been delivered?
Rivian reports that as of December 15, it produced and delivered respectively 652 and 386 Rivian R1T/Rivian R1S electric vehicles.

So seeing one today on the road was like spotting a California Condor!
"Our team is incredibly focused on ramping our production output to get vehicles to our excited customers. We expect to be a few hundred vehicles short of our 2021 production target of 1,200, however, we are encouraged by the progress and learnings our team continues to incorporate into our operations.

The one I saw was orange so it reminded me of a lady bug in my rear view mirror.
