Did it sound like John was poor-boying it on the $800 mm for acquisitions? With the pile of cash this company has, it seems he could pull off a big one if the opportunity was too good to pass up.

There was a comparison with GM (I believe) and CSCO and one of the interesting points was that GM had a profit margin of 13% or some paltry sum compared to CSCO's 65%.

In terms of their acquisitions, it seems they like the smaller companies that they can buy for a good price. The big cap stocks are hard to meld in and cost too much. They like companies close to home also. And with their stockpile of cash, they can pick up just about anyone they want!
