thank you, janice. now then, << why men don't understand why most women aren't taken in by Monica...>> i, umm, have a theory or two. here's one that should go over big. they (not so) secretly and vicariously feel collective participation in the underlying (not untruthful by definition) act and feel instinctively protective toward her: they can't see past her need, and foist upon all women that potential role. we are necessarily then, all the same. how could we not feel empathy, it could have been any one of us, helpless to say no. a victim, alas...
