All - Anyone watching the Olympic opening ceremonies on CBS?

I am really pissed off already with this coverage.

Throughout the broadcast, they were hyping the performance of Beethoven's Ode to Joy, to be sung simultaneously by choirs on five continents, all linked by satellite and conducted by Seiji Oszawa.

When they finally got to the actual performance, they showed about three minutes of it, then cut away to a commercial! After the stupid commercial, they went to a typically inane interview with Michelle Kwan, as the music continued.

Unbelievable. I realize that commercials pay for the coverage, but surely they could have covered this historical and unprecedented technological event in its entirety.

I have just sent e-mail to them to register my dismay.

This is the kind of thing that makes me want to leave this country and go live somewhere where people have some sense of proportion.
