One thing we know for sure. The Biden White House, as well as the current majority party leadership is a collection of liars such as which the word has never before seen. I wouldn't believe anything coming from that group of charlatans. They are now building a concrete wall around the White House. It is not hard to wonder why.

I agree that something smells and more than just the clear lies "for our own good" or other BS that came from both presidents in power while this virus rages. As for the chart, the numbers agree well with what I've heard doctors interviewed live on TV confirm as well as close friends in the medical profession have said. We should have put a "Manhattan Project" level of effort into getting data from everyone to learn why some suffer so much and why most of us don't get sick at all or get sick and recover after a very bad flu. I have personal reasons to believe some of the meds they give old people for depression might give them some immunity but we'll not know unless we look at large collections of data. That is something most, including me, are not willing to give up without getting something back. We're quite selfish as a collective and not trusting of big government, for very good reason. They "lied" to us by calling a new technology a "vaccine" where clearly what the shots do is train our bodies to fight the virus like a healthy, young immune system should. It should have been called something like an "immunity booster shot" as they clearly do not provide "immunity" in the classical sense. A vaccine is a biological preparation that provides active acquired immunity to a particular infectious disease.[1] A vaccine typically contains an agent that resembles a disease-causing microorganism and is often made from weakened or killed forms of the microbe, its toxins, or one of its surface proteins. Also, I should not be required to wear a mask to protect someone who chooses not to get a course of "immunity booster shots." "They" could easily add $100 a month to the Medicare payments for part B and something for part C for those who don't get the suggested "immunity booster shots." Thus, those with higher risk of hospitalization would cover the costs. We'll probably get to this they way things are going where the poor and POC will get exemptions for political gain while those of us who've worked hard and saved so we have higher incomes in retirement will pay extra to make up for it... much like how the cost of my health insurance as a self employed worker went up 4x or 5x after my "pool" was invaded by mandate to include everyone not healthy enough to get a full time job with health insurance.

The initial advice, such as to reserve the good masks for the health professionals, was based on a concept that this virus would spread and mutate much like the flu. It didn't, it had it's own unique characteristics. Nobody knew this, they were guessing based on a model of previous virus epidemics. What most anti-vaxxers don't realize, because they listen to crackpots instead of informed sources, is that the vaccines in question, the MRNA vaccines were being developed for several years prior to the outbreak of covid-19. They weren't developed in a big hurry specifically for covid. They were developed as a general purpose vaccine platform for which the final payload (the bodies from which we develop antibodies) can be added in a relatively short time once the DNA sequence of the virus is known. It took 50 years from the time doctors tried to make polio vaccine until they actually had one that worked, and it had just as many side effects. The polio vaccine sometimes caused polio. The old way was not working. I'm sure the researchers would have liked to run more trials in jungles far-far away before releasing the vaccine, but the pandemic was upon us. So, the advice from CDC changed as new information was learned. This was obvious and understandable to anyone who followed the news. It wasn't obvious to those who avoided the news and followed the crackpots. There are anti-vax crackpots on the left as well as the right, but the left wing crackpots tend to hide out on little farms in Vermont while the right wing crackpots figure out how to extract money from gullible and frightened people by peddling stories that are so outlandish that it tends to isolate those who hear them since they can't explain or talk about the information with normal people. It is a cult of misinformation complete with shaming of wavering members and fear of doomsday and the other. Biden and Fauchi and your local doctor didn't lie. It's just that the truth was not as exciting as a second Civil War.
