Ron,

Off topic as it's late anyway:

I'm sort of an odd cut. Started piano at six and got into rock bands about 14 playing drums graduation into electric piano and Hammond Organ. Got out of rock bands in 1970 when I was 20 and started playing with show groups and then ended up doing a single piano vocal. (You know, the Bobby Short guy at the hotel you give $1 to play Misty, or who you see in the paper wearing the tux looking geeky over the caption "George Bigelow providing the musical mood at the Goldberg's Bar Mitzvah." Kinda spooky. Did that for many many years. I sort of got out of the rock environment and started concentrating on standards, so I sort of blank on who played with whom after 1969. That's the long way of saying I don't know who the drummer was for the James Gang but I'll guess either Gene Krupa, Dan Rather or Ginger Baker. >:-)

Onward,

Goerge

Ron - OFF TOPIC
I'm not too darn far from Kent in Akron. 1970 - Does "Funk 49" ring a bell? James Gang ... Joe Walsh, Joe Vitale, can't recall the other 2 without looking at my old album covers!

GO Browns!

Rick M.

Ron, Joes drummer during the James Gang era was Jim Fox. Joe Vitale came on the seen during Barnstorm. James Gang Rides Again was the first album I ever bought as a young lad of 15 I thought it was the best, had to have it. Have been listening to Joe ever since.
