Michael, you live over there on the other side of the sound at Bangor don't you? Here I sit just now getting to the end of the posts from this day and it's 11:00. Looks like all the talk has been wrung out of this thread for the day, At least for me.

Hear's hoping that Starr can bring his case swiftly to court and put these matters to rest. It's fun to banter back and forth but in the end, its not good for the country what is happening.

The thought of Our leader standing with the leaders of other nations at press conferences and being asked questions about the scandal makes us a laughing stock and undermines our credabilty. I pity you guys in the service for having to live by a higher standard than that of your commander and chief. Not that there is something wrong with the standard, but rather there is something dreadfully wrong with the commander.

I'm off to bed, my eyes are red.

Mike,

Of course we do not know what the case consists of, but it seems to center on the sexual practices of the President and others. In no way could or should anything stemming from this, including the desire to keep private matters private, be built up into a Federal case, which would appear to be the case.

My stating that the secretary/employer relationship should and must be sacrosanct and on the same level as other such accepted sacrosanct relationships has nothing to do with fiction, but rather is a simple statement of what should and must be.

I am fundamentally opposed to blatantly blind fishing trips, as would appear to be the purpose of netting Mrs. Currie and perhaps others.

Like the McCarthy Hearings of the early 1950s, I think history will judge this as the tax-wasting, character-assassinating farce of a witch hunt it so far appears to be.
