That appears to be "news" from another "alternative news" site.

It is poor scientific method to attack anyone who wants hard data. Should I call you a "true believer in alternative facts" to even the score?

Did you try to verify it? Did you read the comments in the article?

I read the comments and the gist are Japan was quicker to jump on the vaccination bandwagon and got a much larger percentage of its population vaccinated compared to the US. Estimates are Japan is 80% vaccinated vs maybe 60% here in the US.

The other comments were the typical "fact checkers are lying" we read here.

usatoday.com
Inaccurate claims that Japan authorized ivermectin for COVID-19 began circulating online after Haruo Ozaki, chairman of the Tokyo Medical Association, recommended the drug for COVID-19 patients during a press conference on Aug. 13.

The medical group and Ozaki are not affiliated with the Japanese government, and members of the organization can only provide suggestions, according to independent fact-check organizations.

Turner claimed the rate of COVID-19 cases dropped "to almost zero" after Ozaki's news conference, but Japan logged more than 20,000 new cases per day during the last week of August.

Once someone starts making false claims, I lose faith in most anything they say since they've already proven to be unreliable.

I'll concede Japan but it's still curious why their results are so different given their vaccination rate (80%) is not that much higher than the U.S (75%) according to ourworldindata.org. There must be something else involved causing the discrepancy in results (see graphs on previous post). When you look at our U.S. graph, realize that deaths prior to vaccine availability could largely have been treated with repurposed drugs like IVM and HCQ. Some have calculated that hundreds of thousands of lives (out of approximately 800k total) could have been successfully saved.
