A couple of things about that article:

(1) I have a screen for the semis that I'd like to buy on pullback and every stock they recommended, except for INTC, is on that screen. So I know what they are talking about.

(2) In the current situation the most pertinent thing that article said is this: "The SOX is now trading at 7.9 times estimated next 12 months sales—more than double its historical 10-year average."

PS Another strange sign of times was an article (on Street.com, I think) that argued chips and semicaps should not be considered as a cyclical business and we should think of them as secular growth companies.

Micron Technology Beats but Guides Lower

Micron Technology (MU) reported 3rd Quarter May 2022 earnings of $2.59 per share on revenue of $8.6 billion. The consensus earnings estimate was $2.45 per share on revenue of $8.7 billion. The Earnings Whisper number was $2.50 per share. Revenue grew 16.4% on a year-over-year basis.

The company said it expects fourth quarter earnings of $1.43 to $1.83 per share on revenue of $6.80 billion to $7.60 billion. The current consensus earnings estimate is $2.62 per share on revenue of $9.45 billion for the quarter ending August 31, 2022.

Micron Technology Inc is a manufacturer and marketer of DRAM, NAND Flash memory, CMOS image sensors and other semiconductor components. It has two segments, Memory and Imaging.

Qorvo Beats

Qorvo (QRVO) reported 2nd Quarter September 2022 earnings of $2.66 per share on revenue of $1.2 billion. The consensus earnings estimate was $2.55 per share on revenue of $1.1 billion. The Earnings Whisper number was $2.53 per share. Revenue fell 7.7% compared to the same quarter a year ago.
