Thread.....From The Northern Echo of 1/31/98, a local newspaper in the area of SMU's European ITS plant:

"Fifty jobs are to be created by a 2m (sic; 2m British Pounds, about USD 3.2m) investment at an airbag factory in Northumberland.

Simula Automotive Safety Devices, sited on Wansbeck Business Park, Ashington, currently has 110 employees.

Its 30,000 sq ft factory was set up early last year to provide the Inflatable Tubular Structure (ITS) system for the new generation five and seven series BMWs. The company now hopes to offer the ITS system to other European car companies."

Query....was this an anticipated expansion ??? And, does it mean only that the five series is coming on ???
