The people I listen to, who claim to know people in Ukraine that they listen to, say that intermarriage and cross boarder trade make war there unlikely. Their take, more or less, is that the danger is a false flag started by us.

I don't know but it does look like the usual play, accuse others of what you are doing.

Yes its one sided. The aggression has been from Russia not Ukraine.

Tell them to get lost? Not exactly. I'd be willing to talk, but not to accept their ridiculous list of demands. I very much doubt Kissinger would have either.
