Chinese companies should declare regular dividends policies as a percentage of their profits. They should also put up a clear explanation of their VIE contracts on their websites. The combination would help people like me have more confidence in investing in them. Otherwise, money held in a corporate account which can be given away to the owners and directors at any time without my say is not the kind of proposition I can live with.

Chinese RE and banking problems are big and in other parts of the world could cause huge problems, but not in China. There are two takeaways here:
(1) Chinese imports, and therefore commodities, have a lot more room to drop.
(2) China has no desire to displace USD with RMB
