For sure, from now on when I go out and I don't feel well, I will wear a mask. What stood out to us on that particular day was how well the herd mentality was working. Every single person we saw.........from young to old and everything in between........was wearing a mask. Inside, outside, in cars, walking down the street. Granted this was in a very blue area and maybe these folks are being much more cautious than your average person, but we questioned whether they had ever read contradictory information or seen a video about alternative opinions regarding masks, covid infection and the spread of the virus? Do they realize that omicron is much less deadly and that cloth masks are useless? (we saw a lot of those.) And since they are avid mask maskers, we wondered if they followed all of the other govt protocols? Frequent hand washing, never touching their eyes, nose or mouth during and after an outing, using hand sanitation on a regular basis? We do know they weren't practicing social distancing, but also realize that one is difficult under certain circumstances.............like shopping in stores. Or maybe they're all just smarter than us rebellious conservatives and firmly believe they will stop the spread of covid if they just keep wearing masks until given the all clear? That factoid has always been a conundrum...........why conservatives are so much more rebellious and less compliant than democrat leaning folk. We've always wondered if that is a built in trait or learned? I expect in 2-3 weeks it will be over, and they’ll take off those masks. And that’s the way it should be. I am so hoping that you are right.
