You are completely missing what is going on i.e. there is a fundamental difference between the Democratic and Republican party.

The people who cannot see the difference, or care about it, are the problem.

And the grand irony of your post is that the mistake you are making is EXACTLY what is wrong with this country.

Virtually all the social progress from FDR's "New Deal" to unions protecting workers, to social security to LBJ's "Great society" to the 1964 civil rights act ending segregation, to gay marriage, AND fighting the autocrats have been enacted by Democrats over the last 100 years with "conservative Republicans" fighting said programs all the way.

To say both parties are equally guilty is dead wrong.

It is like saying all German parties were responsible for Nazism and Hitler.

Youi need to study your history, or read some Krugman or Stiglitz.

Much of the Republican base actually votes against their own best interests. Out of ignorance and hatred of liberals whom they feel are taking away their rights to be fools like racists or sexists or hating the LGBTQ community and it is nuts.
