Trump tried to change that, Trump never tried anything but to further his own interests. He would repeat ideas if that gave him support for his grift, but he dropped it just as fast once he got what he wanted, or decided to chase another mark. the two brave souls who stopped Build-Back-Broke while still supporting "liberal values" like choice and a viable Social Security retirement system I'm 90% certain that those two just collected a paycheck to block programs after supporting what amounted to a transfer of state and local responsibilities to the federal government for roads and bridges in order to save on local tax bills which are harder to dodge. They talk about supporting values, but they don't actually do anything but talk about it. When it comes to actual legislation they are absent.
