I have not liked BA's management for as long as I can remember them. The article is basically saying that BA had 10 years to get its act together but didn't.

AAWW has been falling. If they are right about the cargo rates, then this should be a buying opportunity. But the global slowdown does not bode well for cargo companies of all stripes.

Speaking of passenger planes and cargo - eons ago I knew of a guy in Toronto, Canada, who would buy you free tickets to Cuba in exchange for your luggage space. He realized that you could ship to Cuba cheaper with a passenger than with parcel companies. I don't know what happened to him. It was a profitable business, but it was not scalable...I wonder if any enterprising individuals are doing the same now with other destinations.
