But the QR code by itself is harmless. I could give you a telephone # , you could call it, no harm done yet. But if the voice on the other end convinces you to give them your credit card. Who is at fault then? Certainly not the phone #?

I receive emails emails every week that appear to come from Amazon or PayPal telling me my account is about to be shut off…. The emails themselves are not harmful, I usually forward them to phishing@amazon.com. I am sure they have a large staff shutting down perpetrators.
