USA did not like atomic bomb rockets in Cuba. It should not be surprising that Russia is unwilling to accept yet another genocidal attack ftom the west.
They see NATO in Ukraine as a huge threat - as a guaranteed war, either now or in the future - and are willing to freeze their soldiers in field accommodations through the winter, waiting. I think they know that it may take a while for NATO member governments to realize they’re very serious. Hopefully, before too long propaganda should give room to serious talks. Once everyone’s ready to deal, it should not take long. Let’s hope.

Hi, Mq, looks like I was probably right about no Ukraine invasion.

But Russia will eventually get its way because it cares more about Ukraine than the US does, and has the ability to threaten or use military force to get what it wants. When resolve and capabilities line up on the same side, that side is going to win. And the reason that the USA doesn’t care about Ukraine is that it does not matter to us. All the MSM blather, opinions from in the world coming from woke generals on the payrolls of defense contractors, and think tank analysts can’t change people’s perceptions here.

Im guessing that our somnolescent President privately gave up the idea of having Ukraine join NATO. For now. But our foreign policy elites are truly stupid. They’ll try again, especially since it is good domestic politics for a failing President.

It’s not over, it won’t be for a long time. But it will always be insane to have a large country on Russia’s border join NATO. Can you imagine Reagan’s response if a move to have Canada join the Warsaw Pact had taken place? And Canada’s leadership favored the idea?
