Goldman Sachs Group Inc. predicted last month that nickel demand will outstrip supply by 30,000 tons this year, up from an earlier estimate of 13,000 tons. There's supply... and then there's supply that's readily available for sale... and they aren't the same thing ? Excess concentration... in anything... is both the opposite of a free market... and a direct driver of fragility... It's a simple reality... that makes the impulse to centralization and central control... self defeating.
