When my kids were of an age to go to school they got sick every year too, as did I and my wife. It's almost guaranteed that anything your kids are susceptible to is something you are likely to catch too. Getting covid sucks for an older person, but my point is that it's not just teachers that catch it. Everyone catches it. It's a very transmissible disease and isolation is a futile tactic to stay safe in the long run. The best bet is to find a way to get antibodies without getting too sick. This goes for teachers, retail, first responders, last responders, circus clowns, rodeo clowns, and everyone else that lives in society. Vaccine is the safest way to get some antibodies but not the only way.
