William,

If I remember correctly, MYLX used to be a motherboard company before it got into RAID business. RAID actually did more their stock from around $3-$4 to $20s. Ultrastor, on the other hand, was a sad story. Ultrastor went bankrupt in 1994 because they spent too much energy in RAID while lost SCSI market share to ADPT and Future Domain. BusLogic tried to develop RAID technology but never had a success, company was merged into MYLX before went bankrupt.

RAID seems to be a nature expansion for every SCSI company. It's the market where EIDE can never touch. I have no idea how big the total market for RIAD is, but I do believe if ADPT can dominate RAID market as their do in SCSI. They could have a decent growth in the year to come. I guess $100 mil. of revenue stream is not impossible.
