I don't believe that AMAT will disappoint this quarter however I DO believe that they will hedge on the coming quarters. If you look at every other semi equip that has recently reported you will note the following;

- If they missed their numbers the stock traded down and then moved
to the upside during the days following the announcement.
(PRIA & UTEK are just a couple)

- If they beat their (revised) numbers the stocks moved up and didn't
really look back. (KLIC is a prime example)

- The street perceives these issues as being cheap and the PM's need
bargains in order to hit home runs. Even a soft forward statement from AMAT will probably move the shares up because they are oversold
in most PM's minds.

In the short run there are trading profits to be made in the semi equips. Come April when we see our next round of earnings revisions and disappointments I'll be on the short side.
