I've posed the declassified NSA docs here several times which clearly shows NATO promised not to expand "one inch east" of East Germany.
Yes, I get that. That promise was obviously broken.

So what? Eastern European nations obviously saw a benefit to joining NATO. No one twisted their arms to join. We didn't show up in Warsaw with M1A2 tanks telling them to "join us or die."

Putin, of course, calls every Eastern European member of NATO "American puppets."

I'm sure you agree with him, given your tendency to believe guys like Putin and Osama bin Laden.
