We own 2 houses, similar assessed values. One in suburban Boston, one in tourist/retiree dominated Cape Cod with very few school kids. Property tax is 3x in suburbs compared to Cape.

our property tax is all schools. then we get a township tax for roads. and of course state tax. the school tax is the big one!

can you tell me what you pay for fire tax in relation to school tax?.... Is it a volunteer or paid unionized fire dept?...also...where do you live?
