Yup, so CA is trying to pee in the pool to make up for 49 other states using a jackhammer to empty it... at least in attempts to reduce Carbon Emissions.

My stupid city and many others are outlawing NG hookups for new homes and full house remodels so everyone will have to use electricity that we pay 4 or 5x what other states pay... and our rates are slated to go up another 20%
P.S. I do supplement in cold weather with a Toyostove which uses fuel oil when the heat pump becomes inefficient (30s and below).

I used to use firewood but neighbors with bad allergies asked me to stop... and usually when it is the coldest they put in "spare the air" alerts that outlaw using a fireplace unless it is your only source of heat.

The "greens" here say heat pumps are more efficient than NG so that will recover some of the cost but I believe what they have to say about costs about as far as.... well, I'll keep it clean.
