Why do you think Ukraine won't be harvesting wheat this year? If Kyiv falls, the situation is pretty much over. Ukraine was under Soviet control for over 70-years, so it's not like the Soviets going into Afghanistan.

From what I understand, most of the wheat is farmed in the breakaway areas in the east of Ukraine, so that situation should be stable.

Their wheat crop is in the ground, as it was planted late last year.
Harvest is in June/July so they will have wheat, but may not be able to export it.
