You don’t believe them? Well, it’s your choice. Find something you like better. But, stories about individuals really do not answer the question. No one ever accused Putin of being a kind, gentle guy. Personally, he’s probably a SOB. He kept himself in power for decades - so, he’s by definition a strongman. I have no idea to what extent he was part of any violent actions against people. I just don’t know. All I know is stuff I read in the papers. And according to our papers, he’s the Devil. I don’t know why you call my sharing of my impression formed over many years a “meme”. Those were my words based on what I think. Simple.
