To: Spekulatius who wrote (69875 ) 3/2/2022 11:01:25 PM From: Rarebird Respond to of 78817 I do both. Sometimes I will post detailed reasons why I am long a stock. The reasons are usually a combination of many factors, fundamental and technical. If I am pressed for time, which is usually the case, I will just post a few charts with a quick explanation. Sometimes, I just don't have the time during the session and want to get back as quickly as possible to researching the fundamentals and analyzing the chart of other stocks. That is what I do during the market session: research. I have alerts and stop loss set ups for all positions, long and short, along with prospective candidates. I also think that others should have skin in the game and do their own due diligence. I don't work for an investment firm; I work for myself and my subs. I am far from lazy and honestly don't have the time to lay out an investment thesis like those on Seeking Alpha who are part of a larger firm. A quick synopsis is all I want to hear because I have different criterions to go long or short a stock and usually don't want to waste time with the other's detailed investment thesis. After all, we all have to answer to ourselves if a stock does not perform as expected. I am happy to give and receive a heads up while everyone does their due diligence on their own terms and guidelines. Dialogue is nice at times, but I am always cognizant of the bottom line and the time factor. If I say a stock is dirt cheap, maybe I want the other to figure out why it is dirt cheap, rather than lay out the whole investment thesis of why it is dirt cheap. To be honest, I do enjoy reading your insights in regard to particular stocks, but that's something I have got to figure out on my own on my terms and that includes many factors outside of fundamentals. When all the factors line up together, then I will go long or short.
