That's disgusting. I mean that opinion. I have criticized the chorale myself, considered it's replacements, it's relation to the three; and lay my trust and joy in it's total and complete sublimity. Sometimes I think that the punctilious pundits come up with unadulterated hoo-ha like this because everybody else has been saying for two hundred years how great it is and gracious, isn't it time that someone came up with something, well, different? The kind of thing that makes for arcane musicology PhD theses. Umm...hope you didn't shell out too much for that book...
