Analog router

How does a router work if one user isn't using the connection? Would the speed still be cut in half? Or is the speed reduction only if there are two users at the same time?

Zeusnet....I have checked and triple checked that the two computers have the same Microsoft client and settings and workgroup. I have installed and reinstalled the card, drivers and Microsoft client. The drivers are now different because I have two different network cards. I removed the SCSI card which had a conflict. I updated the BIOS. I have enabled file sharing in all configuration screens. I changed from an ISA card to a PCI card. I followed the Help tutorial which leads you step by step through each possible problem. The only thing I didn't do as suggested by the tutorial is give it an NT domain? name. This didn't make sense to me for Win 95 and the Zeus1 works without it. The tutorial ends by indicating that this is not a problem which it can solve.

There is a network neighborhood Icon in Windows explorer with a + next to it as if there were more to see. When I click on the + I get one of those ugly Windows sounds telling me that the network is inaccessible.

Possible software conflict? soundcard?

Shouldn't Zeus2 at least see itself?

Could the problem be an early release of Win 95?

Is there another option besides Microsoft Client?

Thanks
