Looking at the PC Worldbench performance ratings, I find that Intel scores are around the following:
pentium 133 Approx 180
166 Mh non-MMX: 200
166 MMX 220
200 MMX 225
PII 266 260
PII 300 270
This seems like modest performance improvements for the increases in clock sppeds as well as the generational tansitions. Would I really only see a 35% performance improvement for buying a PII 300 versus my lowly non-mmx 166 or do these tests not measure real world improvements, esp for MMX enabled software? I gueass I would also get the benefit of an Ultra ATA disk drive, but I think the difference is also included in these figures since the early models are from June and were not leading edge.
