>>I'm not sure it would necessarily be the best thing in the long run. Therefore I, for one, am still willing to give the guy a little more time. <<

I'm still hanging around, rightly or wrongly, hoping that K.E. will understand that it's more than just long term and that the future may never come, he has to look after the present as well.

I was frankly disappointed with the way the advertising program was promoted and was really looking for the killer instinct. One that sent a message to all and any who would dare think about coming on to my turf that they are going to pay and pay dearly.

I really wanted price reductions . : (

>>I've said this before, but I think it's important to realize that one of the main reasons Iomega has not enjoyed the favor of the professional investment community is precisely because it has been hyped on the Motley Fool board and here on SI. That has given the company a pretty big handicap in the respect department.<<

I believe that the Motley Fool's constant surliest comments of how lousy funds have performed and how well they have done has alienated the establishment against certain stock picks IOM being one.
IOM is well on it's way to overcoming this Internet hype
label, if anything perhaps K.E. has overreacted.

I find it interesting that the establishment is falling all over themselves trying to woo the Internet crowd. I also find it interesting how they are coming to the net to glean information, the fact of the matter is that there's a substantial amount of professional information posted here. Why even Herby's going to be an Internet hypester err
( representative ) ?? ;)

What do you think of their advertising program so far ?

Allen -- I think I've made it very clear that my beef is with the CC. I hope and expect that amends will be made with the Bear Sterns (BS?)<g> presentation that Ira informed us about.

BUT......... when you say >>I've said this before, but I think it's important to realize that one of the main reasons Iomega has not
enjoyed the favor of the professional investment community is precisely because it has been hyped on
the Motley Fool board and here on SI. That has given the company a pretty big handicap in the respect
department. <<

I'd really like to know how you can accoumt for AOL's price. imho, It has been hyped more and longer on the FOOL than IOMg ever hoped to be.

Allen,

Catching up on posts after a few days in chilly
Florida.

I agree with your comments in post #47234.

The kind of news that we need is the actual shipping of one of the important delayed products. They have some visibility thru the stepped-up ad campaign but they are starting look a little "stale" on the retail floor. We need some excitement!

I have noticed a substantial reduction of IOM products in the fliers and ads of retailers in my area, this concerns me. Zip at retail must be slowing down.

I remain long, but I would have been much smarter playing this as a trader.
