Another Great article. Note this at the end
" Meanwhile, US oil companies are still smarting from the pain of that major oil bust in 2020, which kicked off a flurry of bankruptcies. Major oil companies' stock performances have lagged the broader market since then too. And as makers of fossil fuels, they're wary that future environmental policies could hurt future demand for oil."
That is why I've said they are not "investible" for me...

We have idiots in Congress NOW talking about taxing "windfall profits" in the oil industry to fund rebates to low income people... basically they were fine letting the oil companies go bankrupt looking for oil when it was cheap but now that they get a return on their investments, the crooks want to "nationalize the profits."

Democrats Target Oil Companies With Plan to Tax Windfall Profits
  • Plan would tax oil and gas profits from soaring crude prices
  • Idea could be contender for inclusion in revised Biden plan

"Privatize losses and nationalize profits" is what I'll call it!
