You did good. When there is a will, there is a way. I've thought about this a lot and there is much to be desired about the business culture in the US.

That's fine as long as they're willing to do that but now days, they want their cake and eat it too. They want to break the glass ceiling while missing work on a regular basis. One of my fastest welders was this woman that missed a day a week almost consistently. It was a tough call. She got more done in 4 days than anyone else did in 5 days by far. (She was hot too! LOL) It set a bad example to everyone yet production wise, she outperformed on a weekly/monthly basis. Luckily she quit and moved out of state while we were still debating on what to do.
