Sadly, I think we're mostly responsible for allowing this "everyone gets a ribbon or trophy" mentality to take over society. We have fools who believe someone kicked out by their family for stealing to buy drugs is "entitled" to a safe place to sleep and defecate without having to change their behavior. There are a lot of good intentions, such as not making the mentally ill feel bad about themselves, but I'm one of those SNL made fun of for not getting how an individual can hijack nouns that refer to a group of individuals and then hope this makes them feel more included. What is funny is the generation before me is in the same boat as they are the older SNL vets and then on "Better Things" the star and producer, Pamela Adlon, 9 years younger than I, made fun of herself not having a clue about it. To me, it all comes back to behavior... not motive. But that is a whole new tack. Back to Biden, it just bugs me that so many defending the Biden administration and lying about his responsibility for our higher energy prices and soaring inflation from too much stimulus (and pushing the Fed to keep rates too low for too long.) Why can't they own up to it and say something like "California pays much higher prices for gasoline and energy as they lead the nation in carbon reduction. This is our plan that you voted for and I made a pack with the far left end of our party to support their efforts to follow California, not Texas." He and his party need to OWN IT and stop the lying.
