Justing, are you sure that's right?

Well, it's as of July 1997, which was the last time I can tell anybody @ SGI cared. The numbers I gave are on an O2, which wasn't really designed for such a thing, but it's the lowest end config we sell. The O2 was really designed for VRML, image processing, video processing (r/t broadcast stuff), and so there may be something limiting it's performance wrt. something like quake. From what I can see, the Voodoo Graphics boards only support 640x480 and Voodoo Rush boards only support up to 800x600. The number I gave you was 1280x1024 with sound on a 180Mhz proc (they ship with up to 250 now). I'll see if I can't find some numbers that are more recent and get back to you.

Better still, the early buzz about Voodoo2 (which hits retail in
about a month) can get 111+ fps.

What's the point in having more than 30 fps? Isn't any more than 30 fps not detectable by the human eye?
