Mussolini would be proud…. In some ways, I think, yes. At least, he’d be impressed. But he’d probably think they’re not ideological enough, thinking too much about money and business. Too desirous of wealth.

I don’t know enough about their system. They claim it’s a meritocracy of some sort. It’s clearly authoritarian, no doubt about it. Essence of communism is redistribution - with everyone subject to “equity” — except for the ruling elites, of course. “Equity” is not = equality. In this respect, today's China seems fairly capitalistic.
