But just so you know, part of your description includes all of the Easthern Orthodox Churches, the Roman Church, and some of those extending from the Reformation as well. Too be honest i do tend to lump them together - Why? well many of my relatives attended RC churches and schools - we all knew who was diddling children or seeking out boys or other forms of pleasure. I have been screamed at by priests and heard the whole "sex is only for making children not for pleasure" lectures and of course when any priest was under suspicion the church just moves them to a new area to victimize. And then there are the ones get moved to South America when they get in trouble. My opinion is based on what I have experienced, close contact with an RC teacher and an RC student backed up what I saw as wrong with the church as a whole. As a kid of 5 or 6- this ws the seven day adventists - I started to wonder why the church was so focused on money, why the lecture about the tyth, how god new we were not paying our due, they went as far as having paper trains for each kid in Sunday school, only way to add a car to your train or get on the tracks was to give a certain sum. and then there is the slimey priest who I saw telling a mother "if she only gave enough and believed enough god would cure her daughter of cancer" I am afraid the church long ago earned my distain. Do not take it personally - as you pointed out some church folks will acknowledge evil when they see it, but a lot cover it up. Kenneth Copeland and his ilk are a good example of what I do not like about the church and there are lots like him in the Vatican.
