The long pre-history goes back a thousand years. If you look at a map of that part of Russia and Ukraine going back several hundred years you will see the borders change numerous times.

Countries appear and disappear inside Ukraine, here is one example Bukovina

There are regional hatreds so old no one can remember what they are even about.

It is worrying that Chechen Muslim throat slitters supporting Russia are in Ukraine.

I just watched the throat slitter video for the first time, it is obviously made in a studio for propaganda purposes.

“There exists a law, not written down anywhere but inborn in our hearts; a law which comes to us not by training or custom or reading but by derivation and absorption and adoption from nature itself; a law which has come to us not from theory but from practice, not by instruction but by natural intuition. I refer to the law which lays it down that, if our lives are endangered by plots or violence or armed robbers or enemies, any and every method of protecting ourselves is morally right.”

Marcus Tullius Cicero
