I see what you mean, but still it's difficult to imagine that Clinton, using these rather crude techniques, wouldn't have been blown off (so to speak) often enough to have learned how to behave more civilly. In most things he appears to be a pragmatist, who'll do whatever works best. This sort of approach generally wouldn't work at all well. He's also said to be personally charming, and once again, one doesn't expect charm and this sort of crudity to go together. I mean, I should think at least he'd say something like: "Hey! Great hair color! Wanna get it on?" You know, a little class.
