What will Russia accomplish…. Not having a 1500 mile border with a NATO member who, on top of being very hostile, also listens too closely to… influential foreign advisors?

Finns are careful people. They may decide not to join. And if they do, they’re unlikely to allow on their territory missiles capable of hitting Moscow and Petersburg. Why in the world would they want to become the primary target?

John, it's fascinating to see how little people know and understand and can figure out. Can you really not understand what Russia has already gained, and prevented?

Also, if Finland joins NATO it makes no difference to Russia. Ukraine was not in NATO but it was, in all but a bit of paperwork = the attack on Russia and Russians in Ukraine was going with the plan to boot Russia out of Crimea and Sevastopol and prepare attack from the South.

Nuland and co interfered in a foreign election, an actual coup, with murder, but dopey Yanks whined like a fleet of Koreans (who whined like a fleet of 747s over Qualcomm royalties) because Americans imagined Russia Russia Russia helped our great and estimable Big D beat the criminal scum harpie Hillary who should be in jail and who paid Russians to help her.

Can you really not understand what USA and Euroserfs have lost by your attacks on Russia? A glance at food prices and petrol prices will help but the longer bigger picture is more important ... hint gas flowing east instead of west, Russian resources flowing east and south.

And that doesn't count the loss of residual USA reputation and the risk of nuclear obliteration of all of USA. And Euroserfs. I've lived through big history already, fortunately mostly vastly positive, such as the creation of mobile Cyberspace. Now I might get to witness, briefly, the biggest destruction in biological history. Paradigm shift.

Major paradigm shift happens.

You probably think Russia will just accept being defeated. I refer you to the 1812 Overture, Barbarossa, Charge of the Light Brigade.
